ALEXANDER GENNADIEVICH SUKHANOV (continue) 

51. I understand, the professional expert on painting, an artist, could tell much more, than me, the technician, who has got under influence of such surprisingly charming person. Well, we are those, mere mortals, excited by artists, and cannot close tell about them. Well, and those are welcomed, which would be interested in his Art, to look at copies of some works of A.Sukhanov, in CD made by me for this purpose. 

52. At last, I would like to tell about my attempts to cause interest of experts to A.Suhanov's works. Showed the slides, sent to me by A.Utrobin, the experts of Kiev Russian museum. They have looked, have praised, and have told: here it is a lot of it, let the author show the works on faculty of arts of his regional the Ural university. 

53. When I have arrived in New York in early 90th to see my small grandchildren, I have brought slides of works of A.Suhanov in local gallery with loud name Hassidic Art Institute. An artist Michael Glezer, a local celebrity from former SU, met me. I saw his scenery in performance of Shalom Aleikhem’s Tevie Tevel in State I.Franko theatre in Kiev. Glezer looked slides, and approved seen the Art, however admitted, since there are no Jewish motives, these Russian works have no interest for the Art Institute. 

54. Then I have come to Metropolitan Museum. The inspector of one of halls, the Russian young man, the art student, has passed with me to museum library and has looked slides. He has told, that Metropolitan Museum has shoved only artists passed away, that here these slides nobody would look, that the fashion for Russian art for a long time has passed, galleries are overwhelmed with Russian works. 

55. So my attempt of presentation of works of Sukhanov has fallen. I calm myself in a way there in the USA - a deaf mute, and such kind of the art dealer is impossible, and if it is possible, it is possible but in a psychiatric hospital. Though there, you rather will more often meet VIP the person of scale of Napoleon, than the dumb art dealer. 

56. Correspondence from A.Sukhanov has fallen also. On the successively my two letters from the USA, the answer has not received. Probably, the reason for that is my fresh look at America with great admiration, stated in these letters. Perception, recognition of those my delights … by Russian man on a background of Russian life could be negative. But probably, as during old kind times, danger to the Russian person "to have connection to America". 

57. Recollecting about Sukhanov, I conclude again: the Operative has held firmly a throat of Russian people. To stand and resist the special internal core was necessary. If only vanity, a self-estimation keep you stand, to humiliate you it is possible. If your core –the high human spirit, the great human culture, you, probably, will resist from humiliation-a science, confirmed so brightly by all life and the Art of Alexander Gennadievich Sukhanov 

58. But may be, mentioned above the Operative, has been laid up Eltsin‘s a knockout and come to life, and, having risen above Russia, firmly has grasped the throat of Russian people again?

51. Понимаю, профессиональный знаток живописи, художник, смог бы рассказать горадо больше, чем я, технарь, попавший под влияние такого удивительно обаятельного человека. Что ж, таковы мы, простые смертные, от художников чумеем, а путем рассказать о них не можем. Ну, а те, кого заинтересует его творчество, могут посмотреть сделанный мною CD с копиями некоторых работ А.Суханова, милости просим. 

52. В заключениe, хотел бы рассказать о моих попытках вызвать интерес специалистов к работам А.Суханова. Показывал слайды, присланные мне А. Утробиным, в Киевском Русском музее, посмотрели, похвалили, и сказали: тут этого много, пусть aвтор покажет свои работы на кафедре искусств Уральского университета. 

53. Когда я из России впервые прибыл в New York увидеть своих маленьких внучат, то, захватив с собою слайды работ А.Суханова, пришел в местную галерейку с громким названием Hassiddick Art Institute. Слайды смотрел художник Михаил Глезер, местная знаменитость, из бывших советских. Я, оказалось, видел его декорации в спектакле Тевье Тевел в киевском театре им И. Франко. Михаилу слайды понравились, он объяснил, что поскольку здесь нет еврейских мотивов, эти русские работы Art Institute не интересуют. 

54. Затем я отправился в Metropolitan Museum. Смотритель одного из залов, русский молодой человек, студент -художник, прошел со мной в музейную библиотеку и посмотрел слайды. Он рассказал, что Metropolitan Museum показывает только работы ушедших из жизни художников, что тут эти слайды смотреть никто не будет, что мода на русское искусство давно прошла, галереи завалены русскими работами. 

55. Так бездарно закончилась моя попытка презентации работ Суханова. Успокаиваю себя тем, что в США, я - глухонемой, а глухонемой арт дилер невозможен, а если и возможен, то, разве, в психиатрическом госпитале. Хотя там, согласитесь, чащe встретишь VIP- персону масштаба Наполеона, нежели арт дилера. 

56. Не получилась также переписка с А.Сухановым. На мои подряд два письма из США, ответа не получил. Возможно, причина тому- мое восхищение Америкой, изложенное в этих письмах, и восприятие этих восторгов… там на фоне русской жизни, а может быть, как в старые добрые времена, опасность для русского человека “иметь связь c Америкой ”. 

57. Вспоминая о Суханове я заключаю снова: …Опер, поднявшись над тогдашней Россией, мертвой хваткой держaл за горло русский народ. Чтобы стоять и устоять, нужен был особый внутренний стержень. Если твой стержень – высокий человеческий дух, великая человеческая культура, ты устоишь от унижения – наука, подтвержденная так ярко, жизнью и творчеством Александра Геннадиевича Суханова. 

58. Но может быть, также, помянутый Опер, отлежав Ельцинский нокаут, оклемался, и, поднявшись над Россией опять цепко схватил за горло русский народ?
